or maybe better card making on a budget!

Last weekend I saw a card with a nice design and thought I could try this and suddenly I had the idea to use up the tons of Christmas paper offcuts I have collected over the years.

As a true “crafter” I can’t part with any piece that is remotely big enough to still cut or punch a shape out of it. So, as you can imagine I had – and still have – quite a far bit of these smaller pieces.

I started by spreading all the offcuts on my table and then combining three pieces in matching colours. Once this was done I had around 22 piles = 22 cards. The part of the cards that’s not from left overs are the base cards. For the coloured backgrounds I needed some bigger pieces, but I could also find plenty in another box with bigger offcuts 😉

After I had created the first three cards I already started to alter the design by adding in embossing on some of the cards. Overall they are all based on the same design idea, but they all look somehow different. I started with the red/green colours and then moved on to other colour schemes.

I still got some piles left to use up, so you will see some more soon.

Thanks for stopping by.
