I am currently quite interested in trying out new crafts and I was very happy to go to a workshop from my friends Tracy and Alison.

They have started NATA – “Napkin Artistic Tracy Alison” and offering regular workshops. If you are interested, visit their website.

I was there with three other students. First we had to selected from three different sizes of bags/purses which one we want to do.
Then we gone through mountains of napkins and selected designs we liked. The hard part was to decide on the design. Mostly you use only one particular shape/item from a napkin and you combine multiple bits and pieces to create your design. Once its laid out the gluing starts. After the first side is glued on it needs to try. I used a hairdryer to speed it up. My first side was a coffee – Italian theme and consisted of lots of bits and pieces.

When I designed the other side, I came across a very nice napkin and I wanted to use the full picture, but it didn’t fit on my little bag. So I used the main part of the design and then added only the tree branches separately.
I was actually quite quick with gluing my second side. The second side is bird houses in the nature.

After all napkins are glued on there are a couple of steps to finish the bag. Like drying, removing the excess glue, more drying, putting sealer on and ironing it.

I am very pleased with my little bag and I am sure I will be back for more napkin artistic. Next time I might do shoes or a large bag or a iphone cover. There are so many choice!
