After having finished my last piece of birthday chocolate yesterday, I am back to not eating sweets at home. Of course I am already craving a piece of chocolate, but I guess I will be fine in a couple of days. In the meantime I keep eating fruits against the cravings.

I am really on a roll with my x-mas card production this year. I think I am up to 55 or so (its hard to keep track) and I already sold 6 to my neighbor today. I haven’t taken the time yet to put them in my online shop, but I hope to get to this soon.

Unfortunately this week I found out, that Australia Post has increased their prices for international mail by a staggering 53% for simple post/greeting cards. Each card costs now $2.60!! Its even worse for sending parcels: $19 for the first 500gr, $39 for 1kg, for up to 2kg its an unbelievable $75.90. Lucky I haven’t purchased any Christmas presents yet, I would hate to think I have to pay that much postage. I already spoke to my mum and I will do a bulk mail of all my Christmas cards to her and then she will send it via the German post. Stuff you Australia Post!

What annoys me most is the fact, that their service isn’t what you expect. Ie I got four more birthday cards in the mail in the last couple of days. One was from within WA and took 5 days(!) and the other three were all from Europe. While I can’t read the date stamp on two of them the third one was posted on the 17th September and arrived on the 10th October. Surely it shouldn’t take 2.5 weeks for a simple greeting card!?

Yesterday I was wanting to go to the shops, when my car didn’t start. I suspected the battery, but of course I didn’t know exactly. So I called RAC, since I am paying for road side assistance, and one Christmas card, $195 and 70 minutes later my car was fixed. And yes, it was the battery. Lucky it happened at home, at least I could do some stuff while waiting for RAC.

After my shopping I decided to minimize my pile of cloths and other fabric stuff that needed repairing. It had grown quite a bit over the last months. A couple of hours later I had repaired everything either with the sewing machine or by hand, except for one piece, since I didn’t have the required accessories. Its quite satisfactory to “see” a pile of stuff being done. With my daily work its often not that visible what I have achieved.

Here my latest creations and just for the fun of it my creative x-mas chaos with me in the middle:
