It has been a busy time recently! Last weekend I helped my friend Vada move house as well as playing volleyball on Friday night and Sunday afternoon. Sadly we lost both games, but we are still 2nd on the ladder and hopefully will make the finals in a couple of weeks.

I also have been invited to dinners and movies with friends quite a lot. Then it was also tax time again and of course as usual I was creative and before I knew it the evenings and weekends had gone by without a blog post. Anyway here we are.

Even thought I have Vada’s craft stuff stored in my guest bedroom for a couple of months already, it only occurred to me last week, that I could use some of her die cutting tools for my creations. Since we always make sure, we don’t buy the same dies it almost feels like Christmas in July with all the additional goodies. 😉

Recently I have picked up a lot of good ideas on Facebook and Pinterest and tried some of them. One idea was to stamp and emboss with white on vellum. I really like that effect.

DSCN8575 DSCN8578 DSCN8583This brought me to the next cards. I found a brown patterned paper I had for ages already and I decided to combine it with vellum.

DSCN8600 DSCN8601 I also found a leaf background in my brown section I had created with spray paint a long time ago and felt like using it. Somehow I thought it needed a flower theme.

DSCN8603As it happens quite often when I search for matching embellishments, it tend to find nice stuff I want to use, but it’s not quite right for the card. So it stays on my desk for the next card. Hence another brown card, but a different shade.

DSCN8605The only problem with this “technique” is, that a lot of the stuff stays on my desk as I might still want to use it and my work space just gets more and more cluttered. Eventually I get so annoyed that I don’t have enough space to create – not even talking about the fact, that I can’t put my dinner plate down – and I finally do a big clean up.

Of course this is only a tiny selection of my recent creations, more is coming soon.

Thanks for stopping by.
