This is somewhat embarrassing that I have already failed one of my new years resolutions before the first month was up!

So what is my excuse? Well, I was busy with having a visitor from Germany for a week. I picked him up from the airport in the very early hours on Friday morning. After a couple of hours sleep, we took the rest of the day easy, headed down to the beach and I also went for a haircut and did some successful shoe and cloth shopping.

On Australia Day I started the day with a run on the beach while Moritz was already checking out possible flats. In the afternoon we fixed up my bike and drove down to South Perth. We parked the car close to the freeway and then jumped on our bikes to get to the river. We found a prime spot right on the water edge. While we waited for the fireworks we had a nice picnic with fresh bread, some dips and vegetables and of course a drink and “Ritter Sport” chocolate for dessert.

I hadn’t seen the fireworks in the last couple of years, so I enjoyed it. Moritz reaction to my comment how long the fireworks lasts was the same when I went for my very first fireworks 10 years ago: “What!?” Yes, it does last for 30 minutes! Crazy just thinking about how much money that must cost.

Anyway on Sunday we both had to do some work. We started off with a trip to the beach – what a horrible life we have 😉 – followed by a nice breakfast and then got stuck into our work. In the evening we went out for dinner near the beach, very good food, but quite pricy!

Since Monday was still a Public Holiday, Blake and Anina invited us to come on a boat trip. From 10 am to around 3 pm we cruised on the Swan River to Fremantle, out on the ocean to a nice bay for a swim and some fun and of course a picnic before we drove back up the Swan River. It was a great nice and lazy day.

Tuesday I was back to work, but we enjoyed the outdoor movies in the evening, Wednesday after work we went to the Fear end of season dinner, I think on Thursday I came home late from work and Friday I was already starting to organise for my dinner on Saturday.

Looking back, I definitely was very busy, but I managed to snug in a tiny bit of craft time every now and then. Since I have been rather lazy in updating my shop you can see below cards I created during January.
